Many motor insurance policies include cover for glass, but the details differ from policy to policy. Here is what to check before you claim.

Check your policy

  • Glass cover: whether your policy covers windscreen and window damage at all.
  • The excess: the amount you pay towards a claim.
  • How a claim is recorded: ask your insurer whether a glass claim affects your premium or your no-claims discount.
  • How to claim: some policies need you to call a helpline before the work starts.

What we do

We replace the glass and hand you a full, itemised invoice. If you are claiming on insurance, you send the invoice to your insurer. We do not contact your insurer for you.

Have this ready

  1. Your policy details and, if you have one, a claim number.
  2. Your vehicle registration.
  3. A photo of the damage.

If you are not sure what your policy covers, ask your insurer first. You can also call us, and we will explain how the invoice works.
