On many newer cars, a camera sits behind the windscreen, near the mirror. Lane-keeping, emergency braking and other driver aids can rely on what it sees through the glass.

Why the glass matters

The camera looks through one small area of the windscreen. If that glass is cracked, chipped or the wrong type, the view can be affected. That is why the right glass for your exact car matters.

What happens when we replace the windscreen

  • We tell you, before we start, which glass your car needs.
  • The camera bracket and mirror mount are moved across to the new windscreen.
  • We refit the camera and check it before we leave.

Tell us what your car has

When you call, tell us if your car has lane-keeping, automatic braking, rain sensors or a heated screen. Some manufacturers have their own requirements after a windscreen is replaced, so it is also worth checking your car's handbook. Send us a photo and your registration, and we will make sure we bring the right glass.
