A rear screen is toughened glass with heating lines built in. When it breaks, it breaks all at once, and the heater stops working. We replace heated rear and front screens and make sure the heating works before we leave.
When it needs replacing
- A shattered rear screen
- Heater lines that no longer clear mist or frost
- Cracks around the edge of the glass
- Water coming into the boot
What happens on the day
We fit the right heated glass, refit the rear wiper, connect the heater and test it. The broken glass is cleared from the car before we go.
